EGA Master has been a national finalist of the "Quality Innovation Award", in its national phase, in the category of innovative SME.
The innovative sustainable packaging model implemented by EGA Master represents a paradigm shift in the hand tool sector. Such action has made it possible to reduce the carbon footprint and promote the circular economy, leading the way towards responsible practices for other companies in the sector.
The starting point of this innovative circular economy model was the calculation of the carbon footprint of EGA Master and the implementation of a very ambitious improvement plan for its reduction after the analysis of the existing packaging system and the identification of significant areas for improvement in terms of packaging reduction, reuse, and recycling.
After that and after benchmarking with companies in the most advanced sectors in terms of packaging and sustainability, a sustainable packaging model was made for our company with a 2030 objective, based on 4 axes with 7 main lines of action:
- DESIGN FOR GOODS: Includes Smart Design Packaging and recyclable or compostable packaging.
- NATURAL RESORUCES PROTECTION: It involves the incorporation of recycled materials, materials from sources of certified origin and local consumption.
- CIRCULAR ECONOMY / ZERO WASTE LOOP: Focused on the circularity of packaging and technical recycling at scale.
- COLLABORATION: Carry out a close collaboration with suppliers.
Assuming an unparalleled scheme in the sector, the jury of the "Quality Innovation Awards" has chosen this project as a national finalist and will meet again on October 11 to decide the winner in each category.
